Lions Park Master Plan

Client:

Project Description:

Zionsville Lions Club

Location:

Zionsville, Ind.

FRMWRK was engaged by the Zionsville Lions Club to develop a comprehensive, long-range master plan for Lions Park, Zionsville’s most treasured community park. Since 1940, Lions Park has been a pivotal community hub, hosting beloved events and serving as the home of the Zionsville Little League since 1963. Its immediate proximity to the historic Zionsville Village enhances its charm and accessibility. Additionally, its location along the Eagle Creek greenway connects visitors to a vital ecological corridor, home to an array of wildlife including Bald Eagles, Rainbow Trout, and Great Blue Herons.

Our approach to developing this master plan was both collaborative and systematic. We began with discovery and visioning at the macro level, which ultimately informed site and program-specific recommendations at the micro level. Throughout the project, we worked intentionally and diligently to build consensus among project stakeholders and the community by incorporating multiple engagement points—such as public opinion surveys, an online website, stakeholder focus groups, and open public workshops.

This master plan articulates a bold, long-range vision for Lions Park that will help ensure the park continues to strengthen our community by enhancing the health and well-being of all who visit. It acts as a roadmap for future enhancements, encompassing both major projects and incremental upgrades, to ensure the park remains a vibrant community asset for generations to come.
